What Is A Civil Engineer? Education/Training Needed Professional Associations

Why I chose this career/what skills I possess

I chose this career because I enjoyed building and constructing smaller items and when I was younger, I really enjoyed building with legos. I also find myself quite enjoying math every now and then. Civil engineers may use trigonometry, in which, I found quite a joyful unit in grade 10 math, even finding it my best unit in math, with 2 100's.

I realized while in the computer science course, a skill that I possess is problem solving, a skill needed for civil engineering. When faced with decision making, I find myself struggling a little bit to make a clear decision. However, after taking time to think and weigh out the options, I’m able to make a decision that usually results in no regrets. A civil engineer uses decision making to decide on what decisions will lead to a better outcome of the project.
